Spruce Pine Montessori School is seeking AMS or AMI certified teachers for the following positions:

Toddler Lead Teacher

Toddler Classroom Assistant

Primary Lead Teacher

Our school started in 1972 and is located in Western North Carolina not far from the Blue Ridge Parkway.  We serve families in four local counties, including parents working at the nearby Penland School of Craft.  Ours is a small school, with one Toddler Classroom, two Primary Classrooms and one Elementary Classroom.  Our facilities are lovely; our staff is welcoming and highly skilled; and our family community is warm and actively involved in the life of the school.  Please visit our Web Site at sprucepinemontessori.org.

With the mid-year move of our Toddler Teacher to the Head of School position and the joyous news of one of our Primary Teachers having her first baby, we are seeking certified teachers and an assistant who can begin as early as April or as late as August. If you anticipate receiving your Toddler or Primary Teaching Certification this spring and would be interested in working for us this summer we could provide shared, inexpensive local housing for the summer, while you teach in our summer program, try out the local area and we get to know you.  It would be our hope that someone starting in the summer would be the perfect match to our needs and would remain with us through the 2011-12 school year and beyond.
